Barclays has begun sending targeted email promotions to select co-branded cardholders, Frequent Miler reported. The bank is offering 10X bonus points or miles on up to 500 US dollars of spend after adding an authorized user to an account. Cardholders receive 10X points on any spend up to the 500 US dollar limit without needing to reach the full maximum spend cap. [1]

Frequent Miler reported that the offer was received by a Hawaiian Airlines credit cardholder, though similar targeted promotions are expected for holders of other Barclays co-branded cards. Barclays PLC is a British multinational universal bank headquartered in London, England. The institution operates five distinct divisions, including the US Consumer Bank, which oversees its US co-branded credit card products. [1][2]

The business traces its origins to 1690, when goldsmith bankers John Freame and Thomas Gould established a banking firm on Lombard Street in London. The Barclay name became part of the business in 1736 after James Barclay became a partner following his marriage to Sarah Freame. [3]

The credit card promotion provides targeted travelers with an opportunity to boost their loyalty account balances through daily spending. This development follows recent loyalty program promotions, such as Marriott Bonvoy offering bonus points for rental bookings and American Express introducing targeted spending deals on Amazon, as FTMQ Travel reported earlier.
