EVA Air launched non-stop flights between Washington Dulles International Airport and Taipei Taoyuan International Airport on June 26, 2026, Simple Flying reported. The new service covers a distance of approximately 7,800 miles, making it the longest route operating out of Washington Dulles. [1]

The addition of the direct flight shifts long-haul connectivity patterns between Taiwan and the United States. Simple Flying noted that direct service between the two regions had previously been concentrated primarily along the West Coast of the United States. [1]

The flight operates out of the Main Terminal at Washington Dulles International Airport, located in Loudoun and Fairfax counties in Virginia. The terminal was designed by Eero Saarinen and completed in 1962, before undergoing an expansion in 1996 by Skidmore, Owings and Merrill. The facility is operated by the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority. [2]

The route addition comes alongside other recent long-haul operational changes at Washington Dulles. As FTMQ Travel reported earlier, Emirates recently replaced its double-deck Airbus A380 aircraft with smaller Boeing 777 jets on its services connecting Washington Dulles to Dubai. [5]
