Airlines adjust Middle East flights as airspace restrictions continue
International carriers are altering schedules and routing around Middle East airspace as regional tensions and operational restrictions persist.

International airlines are continuing to modify schedules for flights in the Middle East due to ongoing airspace restrictions linked to regional tensions. The National reported that carriers including KLM, Singapore Airlines, and Air France are adjusting their operations. KLM is avoiding the airspace over Iran, Iraq, and Israel, as well as portions of the Arabian Gulf. [1]
As part of its operational changes, KLM has resumed flight services to Tel Aviv. The route now includes a stop in Larnaca, Cyprus, to allow flight crews to rest overnight. The National reported that the airline continues to monitor regional conditions to adjust its flight schedules. [1]
Singapore Airlines is the flag carrier of Singapore, while Air France is a subsidiary of the Air France-KLM Group headquartered at Charles de Gaulle Airport. Both airlines operate extensive global networks that depend on clear regional transit corridors across West Asia. [9][10]
The operational schedule adjustments follow earlier flight disruptions in the region. As FTMQ Travel reported earlier, carriers had extended flight cancellations to destinations in Saudi Arabia, including Riyadh and Dammam, following regional security developments. [14]
