The Catskill Mountain Railroad will operate its annual Pumpkin Express Train over two upcoming weekends in October 2026, the Daily Freeman reported. Excursions will run four times a day on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 17, 18, 24, and 25. All trips depart from Westbrook Station at Kingston Plaza, located at 151 Plaza Road in Kingston, New York. [1]
According to the Daily Freeman, daily departure times are scheduled for 10 a.m., noon, 2 p.m., and 4 p.m. Passengers will take the train up to a designated pumpkin patch. At the site, riders can select a pumpkin to bring home for seasonal decoration. [1]
The Catskill Mountain Railroad is a heritage tourist railroad that started operations in 1982. It leases a 4.7-mile segment of the former New York Central Railroad Catskill Mountain branch running between Kingston and Stony Hollow, New York. Ulster County owns the tracks, which it acquired in 1979 from the Penn Central Railroad bankruptcy estate. The current operating permit held by the railroad with Ulster County expires on Dec. 31, 2028. [5]
