Norwegian Cruise Line moves up Norwegian Aura debut date

Norwegian Cruise Line has moved up the maiden voyage of its future flagship after shipyard Fincantieri signaled an early delivery.

Norwegian Cruise Line will debut its new flagship ship, Norwegian Aura, 19 days earlier than originally scheduled, Cruise Hive and Cruise Industry News reported. Shipbuilder Fincantieri expects to deliver the vessel ahead of time. This early delivery allowed the cruise line to open two new Mediterranean itineraries ahead of the originally planned maiden voyage on May 21, 2027. [1][2]

According to Cruise Hive, the two added sailings will take place aboard the 3,840-guest vessel on May 2, 2027, and May 12, 2027. The first new voyage on May 2 is a 10-night itinerary departing from Trieste in Italy and finishing in Piraeus in Greece. Cruise Industry News, TravelPulse, Travel Weekly, and Travel Market Report all reported that the new early May sailings are now open for booking. [1][2][3][5][6]

Norwegian Cruise Line president Marc Kazlauskas stated that early delivery of the vessel allows the company to welcome guests aboard sooner than expected, Cruise Hive reported. Additional details on the second added sailing on May 12 were not immediately available in the initial reports. [1]
