Southwest Airlines is launching 11 new nonstop international routes beginning in November, Fox News reported. The carrier will expand its footprint with new flights originating from Las Vegas, Nashville, Austin, Columbus, and Pittsburgh. [1]
The expansion starts on November 1, when the airline begins nonstop service from Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas to Puerto Vallarta, Fox News reported, citing the New York Post. Southwest Airlines currently commands more than 40 percent of all flight operations at the Las Vegas airport. [1]
The carrier will continue its international network expansion into early 2027. Fox News reported that Southwest Airlines will introduce nonstop flights from Nashville International Airport to Liberia, Costa Rica, starting in February 2027. [1]
The network adjustments build on a broader trend of major US carriers adding international connections. As FTMQ Travel reported earlier, American Airlines is also expanding its Latin American service by adding a third Venezuelan route between Miami and Barcelona in 2027. [1][4]
