Air Canada and United Airlines have announced new transborder routes connecting six Canadian cities to the United States for the summer 2027 season. GlobeNewswire noted that the new routes are designed to increase travel options between Canada and the United States. [1][9][10]

Simple Flying reported that Air Canada is launching non-stop flights to a new United States city that the airline last served over 25 years ago. Meanwhile, Transport Canada has opened a public consultation regarding a proposed expansion of the joint venture between Air Canada and United Airlines, according to FL360aero. [7][8]

Air Canada is the flag carrier and largest airline of Canada by fleet size and passenger volume. Founded in 1937, the airline is a founding member of Star Alliance and maintains major hubs at Montreal, Toronto, and Vancouver. [13]

Separately, Aeroplan and World of Hyatt launched a partnership allowing members to earn, redeem, and convert points between both loyalty programs, Frequent Miler reported. Aeroplan also introduced a new status challenge for World of Hyatt elite members holding Explorist or Globalist status, who link their accounts across the two programs. [3][6]
