British Airways has revealed plans to retrofit its Airbus A380 aircraft with a 106-seat business class cabin, Simple Flying, One Mile at a Time, and Paddley Too reported. The new Club Suites cabin will occupy the entire upper deck of the superjumbo, making it the largest business class cabin in commercial aviation. [1][2][3]

As FTMQ Travel reported earlier, the carrier is removing 88 economy seats from each A380 to make space for the changes. View from the Wing added that the airline is installing new first class suites, while expanding premium economy seating by more than 50 percent on the main deck alongside refurbished economy cabins. [2][4][10][14]

Simple Flying noted that British Airways will install more than 35,000 individual parts on each aircraft during the nose-to-tail overhaul. One Mile at a Time reported that work on the first retrofitted A380 is currently underway, with the aircraft scheduled to enter passenger service in the coming months. [1][2]

In tandem with the aircraft upgrades, British Airways has announced plans to redesign all eight of its lounges at London Heathrow Airport, One Mile at a Time reported. View from the Wing noted that the project begins with a new arrivals lounge and Terminal 5C gate lounge, which will feature a dedicated Concorde space located closer to departure gates for superjumbo flights.
