The Scottsdale Railroad Society raised over $40,000 at its inaugural Sunset Soiree On the Rails event on October 9, Arizona Digital Free Press reported. The funds raised at the event will support a new initiative that provides free educational train rides to students who attend qualifying Title I schools. [1]

According to Arizona Digital Free Press, the fundraising gathering brought together 120 civic, business, and community leaders for live entertainment, hors d'oeuvres, and cocktails. The money collected during the event will directly fund the organization's new Golden Ticket Program. [1]

The event took place at McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park, a 30-acre facility situated in Scottsdale, Arizona. The park contains a 15-inch gauge railroad, a railroad museum, three model railroad clubs, a Magma Arizona Railroad locomotive, and a live steam railroad with a 7.5-inch gauge. [1][2]
