The new Ramganj Mandi to Bhopal railway line is scheduled to become fully operational by April 2027, The Times of India reported. The direct route will shorten the rail distance between Bhopal and Kota by nearly 100 kilometres. The publication reported that the project will save passengers two to three hours of travel time. [1]

The railway line spans 276 to 277 kilometres and is being constructed at a cost of 3,035 crore rupees, according to The Times of India. The route connects the districts of Bhopal, Sehore, and Rajgarh in Madhya Pradesh with Jhalawar and Kota in Rajasthan. Construction plans include 27 stations along the route to expand passenger service. [1]

Bhopal Junction serves as the primary railway station for the capital of Madhya Pradesh, located roughly 40 kilometres from the Sanchi Stupa. Jaipur is the largest city and capital of Rajasthan, located 268 kilometres from New Delhi. [2][3]

Once the corridor opens completely, the line will also reduce the rail route between Jaipur and destinations in South India by 115 kilometres, The Times of India reported. [1]
